ImageIt’s definitely an unusual dilemma for tennis player Sania Mirza.

Her heart beats for India and her husband’s for Pakistan. Nevertheless, the Indian tennis ace has clarified that when it comes to being a supporter, there are no two choices.

“I am always an Indian at heart and like every other Indian I cherish every win that our sportspersons bring to the country,” says Mirza, who is married to Pakistani cricketer and former captain Shoaib Malik.

Mirza, who is currently on tour playing at Miami, admits that she is on cloud nine every time India wins a match. “It has always been a proud moment for me whenever we have won laurels and medals for India. I have always been a keen follower of the game and I have always admired players like Sachin (Tendulkar) and Dhoni. Whenever there’s a game, I always pray for India’s win. It works sometimes!” adds Mirza, who’s been rated as one of the best looking sports-persons from India.

The tennis star says that she will be rooting for India even though there’s a mock war that has broken out between her and her husband. “All my prayers with the Team! Go India Go! CHAK DE INDIA! We are the best!”

Mirza texted from Miami. Her close friends say that she has a habit of texting in capital letters when she is too excited.

Meanwhile, Pak national living in Mumbai, musician Adnan Sami wants the sport to be devoid of politicking...

Adnan says, “Giving political twists to a simple pleasurable cricket match is contrary to the fundamental spirit of 'Sportsmanship'. Hence, may the best man win! If I adore Sachin as a great batsman, I also admire Shoaib as a great bowler.. Can anyone who is an avid sports enthusiast and devoid of any political leanings, challenge this adulation regardless of country, caste or creed?”
