Shoaib plans anniversary bash for Sania

They ought to have celebrated their first wedding anniversary on April 12, but Sania Mirza was busy winning the women’s double title a day earlier with Elena Vesnina of Russia at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston... much to husband Shoaib Malik’s joy and despair!

But now, he has planned a double whammy celebration for them, as soon as his wife gets home. Using their anniversary as a peg, and keeping in mind the Charleston victory along with Sania-Elena’s earlier doubles title in California at the BNP Paribas Tennis Open, Shoaib has planned parties in Hyderabad and Dubai, where they now stay. Shoaib is also taking Sania away to an undisclosed destination for a week to unwind, because her tennis schedule has been stressful. She has come back from an injury and clawed her way to a World No 73 position this year, which is commendable for the Indian tennis ace.
